This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Consumer and Community Affairs Branch in the Montgomery Alabama Field Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of fostering communication between financial institutions and community-based organizations (CBOs).

Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here.
CG-9: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-07 grade level or above in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in supporting programs and activities relating to financial education, community development, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) consumer regulations and/or fair lending and consumer protection laws and regulations.
OR EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-09 level.
CG-11: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-09 grade level or above in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience developing or implementing financial education or other consumer protection programs relating to community development, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) consumer regulations and/or fair lending and consumer protection laws and regulations.
OR
EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M., if related.
OR
COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-11 level.
CG-12: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-11 grade level or above in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience leading the development and implementation of financial education or other consumer protection programs relating to community development, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) consumer regulations, and/or fair lending and consumer protection laws and regulations with community-based organizations, academia, government officials, and/or financial institutions.
