Duties
You will repair and maintain a variety of large commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and supporting equipment with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgement to locate malfunctions.
You will troubleshoot a variety of large commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and supporting equipment.
You will perform preventative maintenance on heating boilers and/or boilers and/or boil systems and auxiliary equipment.
You will mount, connect, and adjust components , such as transformers, motors, electrodes, relays, solenoids, switches, pneumatic and electrical thermostats, rheostats, aqua stats. steam glam seals, bearings, and drive gears.
You will plan lay out and install a variety of large complex commercial and industrial systems and supporting equipment.
You will install., repair, and modify large/complex systems that provide for a variety of air conditioning functions such as heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidify, cleaning, filtering, and circulating.
You will install, maintain, repair, and modify large/complex heating and power boilers and support equipment including mechanical system controls and distribution lines.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to work under adverse environmental conditions.
- You will be required to have the ability to discern colors, contrast and depth.
- You will be required to possess and maintain the universal certification for handling refrigerants.
- You will be required to lift, carry, and handle equipment up to 50 lbs.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision: Repairing, installing, and maintaining various types of air conditioning systems, including troubleshooting and diagnosing issues; utilizing blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to properly maintain HVAC systems; performing preventive maintenance on heating boilers and/or boiler systems and auxiliary equipment; and applying expertise in HVAC regulations and protocols to uphold workplace safety standards.
