You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the CONVERSION AND REPAIR DEPARTMENT of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Duties

You will monitor contractor's performance pertaining to schedule in all areas of ship construction. You will maintain a historical record of all waterfront changes and cost estimates. You will develop preliminary cost estimates for obligation purposes, investigate actual status of ship construction and ship fabrication, evaluate rework required, and evaluate potential delays. You will review, monitor, and maintain an up-to-date status of design and ship construction events, material installation, and testing to Master Erection Schedules. You will prepare waterfront work package for all incoming officer and work with the officers and crew to implement these changes into the ship. You will procure material and services for the accomplishment of waterfront changes. You will develop cost estimates, investigate actual status of ship construction and ship fabrication, evaluate re-work required, and evaluate the potential for contractor delay and disruption for proposed changes.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector monitoring the production control operations, projects, or activities of contractors for the construction, repair, maintenance, or modernization of submarines or surface ships.
