About the Position: This position requires work on complex planning and programming projects and assignments for contingency planning initiatives to carry out the USARNORTH Commander's responsibilities for providing Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) and other agencies as required by Executive Orders, the National Response Framework, and DOD, Asst SECDEF for Homeland Defense, DA, USNORTHCOM directives, regulations, and plans.

Duties

Serves as a member of the Defense Coordinating Element and deploying to exercise or disaster areas. Supports the Defense Coordinating Officer (DCO) in on-going operations, training and exercise planning, force employment, orders preparation, staff planning, and coordination with higher and adjacent commands. Composes, coordinates, reviews, and maintains the status of mission assignments during a real-world event or exercise. Works on complex planning and programming projects for contingency planning initiatives utilizing an understanding of the military decision-making process, National Response framework and the DoD and government organizational structures. During real-world events and exercises, performs supervisory and managerial functions for operational and/or planning augmentation and EPLOs performing operational and/or planning functions.
