About the Position: Serves as the Casualty Support Travel Administrator for the HQDA Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Division (CMAOD), as the primary point of contact concerning all Family invitational travel and all government official temporary duty travel with in CMAOD. at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Implements the Defense Travel System (DTS) program for Family and uniformed casualty travel..
Provides technical and procedural training to other office personnel and Casualty Assistance Centers.
Provides written and telephonic interpretations of Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) .
Conducts analysis and prepares management control assessments.
Serves as the contracting officer representative for contracts specific to travel and transportation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include overtime, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Position is designated as Mission Essential (IAW DODI 3024.42 DTM 17-004) position during Inclement Weather Conditions or other designated identified emergency conditions.
- This position may require that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 10% of the time.
- Within 6 months of appointment, must obtain and maintain Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) certification and is required to complete all associated training and or certifications per Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) .
- Within 6 months of appointment, must obtain and maintain Government Purchase Card and is required to complete all associated training and or certifications per Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) and the Army Federal Acquisition Regulation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Using Defense Travel System (DTS) and non-DTS travel processes for unique Family and Casualty Support travel. 2) Providing weekly updates to supervisor outlining office operations, program status, resource availability, any new projected travel requirements, and identifying personnel, equipment, and training needs. 3) Auditing travel reimbursement vouchers for accuracy and propriety of expenditure of funds. And 4) Resolving any discrepancies or problems with authorizations and vouchers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
