About the Position: This Secretary (OA) is located at White Sands Test Center, XO/Mission Support Directorate with duty location of White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. (merit)
Duties
Serve as executive assistant on all administration/management matters to the Test Center Commander/Deputy Test Center Commander.
Screen incoming telephone calls for the Test Center Commander.
Maintain an appointment book for the Test Center Commander while resolving conflicts as necessary.
Compose correspondence such as thank you notes, acknowledgements and notification letters as a matter of supervisor's practice.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position may require overnight travel away from the normal duty station for business purposes up to 15% of the time.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Prioritize supervisor's automated calendar to adjust for appointments as required; 2) Prepare/review/edit correspondence for grammatical correctness and formatting in accordance with existing regulation; 3) Obtain accurate data for analysis of current studies in order to provide recommendations; AND 4) Provide guidance on administrative, procedural, and clerical matters to clerical personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07/NK-02).
