You will serve as a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Operations, Emergency Management, Training and Readiness of NAVAL AIR STATION WHIDBEY ISLAND.

Duties

You will assess emergency program strategies (e.g., objectives, deadlines, goals) to determine resources needed. You will coordinate training for emergency management teams and special units to maintain emergency readiness. You will develop emergency management standards, regulations, practices, or procedures to identify, minimize, or eliminate hazards and threats. You will coordinate the inventory, storage, and maintenance of specialized emergency management equipment.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Creating an emergency management plan in accordance with federal, state, local, and command rules and regulations; 2) Developing policies and procedures in response to emergencies (i.e. chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, fire, natural disasters); 3) Maintaining an emergency operations center (i.e. maintaining equipment, developing budget submissions, implementing training, etc.); 4) Analyzing emergency management incidents and responses to determine appropriate responses and/or areas for improvement.
