This position is part of the Security and Intelligent Documents, Government Publishing Office in Washington,
District of Columbia.
Duties
Oversees routine daily operations to ensure analysis and documentation of all manufacturing waste from passport and secure card production.
Oversees routine daily operations to ensure Quality Control and Quality Insurance inspections are completed
Responsible for the proper collection and reporting of the data into the databases for the defective books and secure cards and manufacturing waste.
Requirements
- You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply.
- Selectee must pass all preemployment requirements prior to appointment.
- Selectee must undergo a background investigation for a Non-Critical Sensitive, Secret background investigation.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
- Selectee must be able to obtain and Maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Lead Document Inspection Technician, PG - 1801 - 9 , you must meet the following requirements:
To qualify for the Lead Documents Inspection Specialist PG-09, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-08 grade level in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing and continuous process environment that includes: 1) Use of quality assurance methods, principles, and practices including statically analysis and sampling techniques 2) Interpreting and applying product specifications, technical data, regulations, and other guideline materials.
OR
Possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, related to the work of the position
OR
Possess 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or LL.B. or J.D., if related- leading to such a degree related to the work of the position,
OR
Possess a Combination of education and Specialized experience that equals 100%.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may be used or this grade level.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
