This position is part of the Plant Operations, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
Duties
Serve as technical lead for the entire Branch and oversees the Building Management System, free-cooling efforts, and the introduction of variable air volume control.
Ensure critical systems are properly maintained in accordance with (ICW) manufacturing standards and policy as approved by appropriate governing authority.
Lead program design and scheduling for Emergency Systems maintenance, such as the fire pump, electric feeder transfers, etc.
Resolve technical problems, prepare progress, cost, and other related reports and estimates.
Review blueprints and confer with engineers to determine work to be accomplished.

To qualify for the Foreperson, KE -5419-00, you must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element: Job Element #1: to be considered eligible for the position, applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of this position. These duties require: developing strategic plans to address heating and air conditioning, ventilation (HVAC), and electrical power distribution systems that support plant production operations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Must meet the requirements as set forth in Appendix A of GPO Directive 615.2C dated 4/11/11, the Federal Merit Promotion Plan.

Education
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
