About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties
Manage the day-to-day operations of medical simulation in a Level I Trauma Medical Center.
Update, maintain, and manage databases for the GME-Simulation Service to ensure accurate and timely information management.
Provide technical and programming support for operating the state-of-the-art Human Patient Simulators (HPS) and other simulation systems,
coordinating training on highly sophisticated HPS.
Provide reports to the Administrator on Simulation Center use, training information requirements, and budget issues, and query database
information to create reports, graphs, tables, and charts.
Plan simulation experiences for health care providers, physicians, and nurses to include overseeing and proctoring simulation exercises, and
simulation-enhanced medical competencies validation for BAMC training programs.
Participate in the development of lesson plans, program simulation scenarios, and produce simulation learning materials to support trauma and
medical readiness training.
Account for all simulation and office automation equipment for the department by conducting 10% monthly and 100% semi-annual inventory.
Perform preventive maintenance of medical simulation systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required
to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Specialized Experience: In order to qualify, your resume must demonstrate that you possess at least one year of specialized experience which includes coordinating medical training, conducting medical simulation training using human patient simulators, and providing operational support to a medical training center. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
