The incumbent works in the Communications Department (DD-COM) of the National Gallery of Art (NGA), which is charged with the press relations and information activities of the museum. The primary purpose of the work is to ensure the efficiency and productivity of the integrated communications operations of the office.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-301-9. For this position, specialized experience is at least one year of experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-7, ensure the efficiency and productivity of the integrated communications operations of the office for an organization or major institution.

Basic knowledge and ability to apply analytical and evaluative concepts, principles and methods and techniques sufficient to determine best practices on record-keeping, proper transaction reports, and budgeting; keep track of supplies, sort and manages materials, take care of office space, and handle mail sorting and any transaction with the mail room; and manage department contacts databases, both in the Cloud and other systems.
Basic knowledge of National Gallery of Art missions, policies, and objectives and Communications Department core competencies and processes and various functions of a museum communications office.
Familiarity with office management operations, personnel procedures, and project management.
Familiarity with budget forecasting, budget management, bookkeeping, and financial management systems.
