You will serve as a NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST in the Environmental Planning and Conservation Branch of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will coordinate natural resources planning requirements for an organization in compliance with provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA). You will direct technical evaluations for environmental engineering or scientific studies to correct environmental deficiencies. You will collaborate with various entities (e.g., regulatory and resource agencies, regional planning agencies, universities) to protect and secure an organization's natural, biological, or cultural resources. You will present technical information to management officials for use in decision making.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing or participating in Endangered Species Act section 7 consultations with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or the National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries); 2) Writing or reviewing Biological Assessments under the Endangered Species Act; 3) Utilizing environmental regulations such as the Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, or Marine Mammal Protection Act.; and 4) Providing training and mentoring to other environmental staff and to technical staff in other business lines. Basic Requirements

1. Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

2. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
