A successful candidate in this position will serve as a Lead Security Specialist, Senior Security Expert and Technical Advisor, recommending the direction of development, implementation, assessment, and improvement to the Security Program for the protection of Kansas City Field Office (KCFO).
Duties
As a Lead Security Specialist, you will
Advise Kansas City Field Office (KCFO) Senior Managers on the development and implementation of KCFO Security Plans and Protection Program strategies. Provide expert technical guidance and contractor oversight for daily operations and activities at Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) and Kansas City National Security New Mexico (KCNSC-NM).
Oversee, and analyze the M&O Contractor's security program activities for compliance with established requirements and to ensure coordination with Federal and local law enforcement programs. Conduct formal security assessments and periodic Cost-Plus Award Fee (CPAF) evaluations, policy guidance and direction of the KCNSC.
Provide direction, advice, and guidance to team members. Coordinates, coach, and review work assignments; balances workload among the team; instruct employees on job processes and techniques; provide technical direction and guidance; interpret and implement organizational policies and provide on-the-job- training.
Manage the insider threat program and provide resource recommendations to Senior Leadership. Develops KCFO agency insider threat policy, internal guidelines and procedures.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band level or GS grade level in the Federal Service, i.e. EN/NQ-03 pay band or GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1. Experience applying security management procedures to oversee, evaluate, and manage safeguards and physical security systems or programs.
2. Experience analyzing findings of security surveys, determining adequacy of security controls or procedures.
3. Experience providing guidance and advise to senior management on safeguards and security policy or primary or secondary programs.
