You will serve as a Deputy Equal Employment Officer in the Equal Employment Office of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will be responsible for the full delegated authority to plan, organize, direct staff, carry out review and evaluate management oriented programs to accomplish the command’s EEO mission. You will be responsible for developing local activity policies and instructions/notices on all aspects of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program for the command. You will be responsible for program compliance for all commands based on federal regulations. You will be responsible for the EEO Complaints Program for all commands serviced. You will be responsible for ensuring that EEO training is provided supervisors and managers to ensure they have a clear understanding of their responsibilities relative to the EEO Program. You will be responsible for supervising the development, planning, directing, coordinating, reviewing, monitoring, evaluating and updating all program activities. You will be responsible for administrative and technical supervision of the employees in the Equal Employment Office.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing and evaluating a civilian federal equal employment opportunity (EEO) program to include advising on the application of equal employment opportunity (EEO) program requirements and developing strategic initiatives and recommendations for senior leaders..
