Duties

This position uses your knowledge and experience to become subject matter expert in the Customs and Border Protection Integrity Awareness & Accountability Program. This position starts at a salary of $117,962.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $153,354.00 (GS-, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,354.00 (GS-13 Step 10). The Investigative Intake Specialist (Operations Analysis) supports the Office of Professional Responsibility with expert research, analysis, and reporting on the conduct of personnel, their associates, contractors, and other entities under the investigative jurisdiction of the Agency. Duties and responsibilities include: Conducting research and analysis by accessing, utilizing, interpreting, and evaluating a full range of Agency, law enforcement, and public sector data systems as well as reporting processes from Federal, state, and local agencies and the intelligence community. Organizing, sorting, categorizing, assessing, and authoring reports in a coherent, concise, and accurate manner; preparing and presenting detailed briefings and training sessions. Communicating goals, objectives and work plans to employees and providing updates to management on the accomplishments and performance of employees and communicating procedures and timelines for reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Required Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Utilizing law enforcement and public sector data systems. Conducting research (professional or academic) and analytical data collection. Preparing and presenting study findings in detailed briefings and training sessions Interpreting data and developing findings, organizing into coherent, concise, and accurate reports tailored to specific and appropriate audiences. Education Substitution: Educational substitution not available at the GS-13 grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 05/14/2024. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
