About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Readiness Unit, Cadre Detachment located at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Duties

Serves as a Social Service Representative (SSR) at a Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) in the Army Recovery Care Program (ARCP). Implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates options and services to meet the complex Behavioral Health (BH) care needs of the Soldier in conjunction with the SRU Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Where appropriate, and with LCSW oversight, facilitates and procures BH education and/or services. Schedules meetings/scrimmages and the Focused Transition Review (FTR) with other appropriate SRU staff members and with Soldiers and their families as necessary to address Comprehensive Recovery Plan (CRP) goals and recover planning objectives. Facilitates psycho-educational and/or support groups for Soldiers and their families as needed. Assists SRU SWs with risk assessment processes, including administering established risk assessment tools.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background investigation is required.
  • This position requires the selectee to pass a pre-employment physical.
  • This is an Inclement Weather Essential position; you must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification. Advanced certification (e.g., Advanced Life Support) does not supersede BLS completion.
