This position serves as the Senior Advisor in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Alaskan Region, Office of Policy, International Affairs & Environment (APL), Office of National Engagement & Regional Administration (ARA). The position directly supports the Regional Administrator (RA) and reports directly to the Deputy Regional Administrator (DRA).

Duties

The incumbent provides advice, counsel and support for assigned areas under the purview of the RA and DRA, and represents their interests in meetings with internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.
  • A One-Year probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-J (FG/GS-14/15) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level, FV-I (FG/GS-13). Specialized experienceis experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.Specialized Experience is: Specialized experience may include knowledge of the FAA organization, policies, mission, functions, and operational requirements. Experience with representing the FAA to Congressional and aviation community officials, media, and the general public.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
