Serves as an assistant to the Chief People Officer (CPO). As the principal assistant and advisor, performs key work in several vital functions or services which oversees matters and advises key staff on the policies and procedures.

Duties
As a Administrative Assistant, GS-0303-8, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Creates, proofreads, and edits a variety of government documents and official correspondence in accordance with standards, guidelines, and agency procedures.
Reviews incoming correspondence, announcements, and other mail for prioritizing senior leadership responses.
Utilizes a variety of software programs (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) in performing assigned work.
Maintains tracking or leverages ticket systems for proper handling of requests and action items.
Researches retrieves and collects data for reports using a variety of computer programs and applications.
Answers inquiries from a variety of customers and visitors.
Manages and maintains supervisors' calendars, schedules meetings, and events.
Coordinates work assignments and office coverage with other administrative staff to ensure mission accomplishment and to support a collaborative work environment.
Provides advice and recommendations to staff members on proper procedures and formats for the preparation of requirements for senior leaders.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT
You may qualify at the GS-08 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector which includes: 1. Performing administrative and clerical duties such as data entry and/or managing databases, producing reports, mailing, faxing, calendar management, copying, and filing; 2. Utilizing various computer software applications such as word processing software (Microsoft Word or similar), Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft suite (or similar); and 3. Proofreading and formatting documents including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
