About the Position: This position is located at the Human Resources Command, The Adjutant General Directorate Fort Knox, KY. Assist the Senior Transition Policy Analyst with coordination and recommendations for policy and program changes for which the Transition Assistance Program (TAP), job assistance/transition assistance functions are responsible and transition processing.
Duties
Gathers and reviews supporting documentation to assist Senior Analyst to develop/prescribe DA policies, procedural guidance, and responsibilities for the transition of all Army active reserve, and guard personnel called to active duty.
Reviews, analyzes, and responds to all special inquiries from the White House, Congress, DOD, DA, and other agencies regarding assigned programs and issues.
Identifying actual or potential problem areas and recommends corrective action and changes to establish program objectives.
Monitors program to ensure conformity to all applicable Federal regulations, Congressional legislation, and with the most current theories and standards relevant to transition/job assistance service.
Provides expert interpretation of regulatory policies and procedures to the field commanders and personnel relevant to assigned programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent subject to a One-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Incumbent may be required to perform occasional Temporary Duty Travel (5%).
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Recommending policy and program changes to ensure conformity to all applicable regulations and legislation. 2) Researching regulatory guidance to identify actual or potential problem areas. 3) Analyzing data to advise senior leadership AND 4) Responding to inquiries regarding assigned programs and issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Education
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position,such as: Business Management, Business Administration, Resource Management or Human Resources Management.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
