About the Position: The incumbent of this position develops, manages, plans, administers, coordinates, and evaluates a comprehensive safety and occupational health quality assurance program for the Department of the Army and the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center (USACRC), located at Fort Novosel, AL.
Duties
Serves as the Quality Assurance Director and manages functional areas of a Quality Assurance Program as assigned by the Deputy Commander.
Provides expert consultation on training and education concepts, processes and policies related to safety and occupational health training.
Ensures quality controls are in place to ensure effectiveness of training, training development, and training development interface with doctrine throughout the center/school and across departments.
Coordinates with other branches, divisions, and directorates for input.
Evaluates validation of training products/materials.
Coordinates and attends meetings with HQ TRADOC staff members.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as: conducting studies in support of training and meeting organizational strategic goals; assisting management in establishing new policies, methodologies and/or techniques; preparing reports regarding management resources by analyzing complex data to achieve goals; and coordinating various drafts, such as: correspondence, special reports, fact sheets, talking papers and briefings for management. This definition of Specialized Experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade level position in the Federal service GS-13.
In addition to meeting the qualifications requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the basic requirements listed below:
Basic Education Requirements: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Instructional Design, Adult Education, Business Administration, Management.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Instructional Design, Adult Education, Business Administration, Management, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described in A above.
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
There is NO substitution of education for experience at this grade level. You must meet both the specialized experience and the basic education requirement for this position. A copy of your official transcripts must be submitted with your application package.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
