About the Position: Incumbent of this position oversees and supervises branches within the Warrant Officer Career Center (WOCC), responsible for the programs of instruction and execution of training within the Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS), Warrant Officer Intermediate Level Education (WOILE), and Warrant Officer Senior Staff Education (WOSSE).

Duties

Manage the programs of instruction and execution of training within a career college environment. Formulate plans for implementation and evaluation within a career college. Provide leadership and administrative direction to subordinates engaged in performing training development processes and producing training plans and manuals. Review the administration and management of a variety of training development functions. Exercise full range of personnel management responsibilities over subordinate positions. Determine resource and funding of programs to ensure mission requirements are met. Performs the full range of supervisory personnel management functions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% Temporary Duty Travel (TDY).
  • A one year supervisory probation is required unless already completed.

This definition of Specialized Experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade level position in the Federal service GS-13. In addition to meeting the qualifications requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the basic requirements listed below: Basic Education Requirements: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Instructional Design, Adult Education, Business Administration, Management. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Instructional Design, Adult Education, Business Administration, Management, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described in A above. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. There is NO substitution of education for experience at this grade level. You must meet both the specialized experience and the basic education requirement for this position. A copy of your official transcripts must be submitted with your application package.
