About the Position: Position is located at White Sands Missile Range, Commanding General, White Sands Missile Range NM.
Duties
Arrange transportation (ground or air) requirements, billeting requirements, and other special needs or requests.
Develop the guest list for command group approval.
Maintain database tracking all protocol-supported events, to include identity of visitors, purpose of visit, scope of interaction with leadership, and associated costs.
Support all WSMR organizations on the installation in planning and coordinating major meetings, conferences, seminars, demonstrations, tours, and formal visits.
Develop and maintain rapport with installation officials, tenant unit Protocol Offices, and/or leadership co-located to identify and implement best practices.
Maintain database tracking all protocol-supported events, to include identity of visitors, purpose of visit, scope of interaction with leadership, and associated costs.
Assist the Protocol Officer in developing protocol policies and procedures for conducting major meetings and visitations.
Provide planning and procedural guidance on the conduct of military social functions, such as: Hail and Farewell events, etc.
Project budget funding requirement to support protocol activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment.
- This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) experience performing a variety of tasks relative to the coordination, and/or implementation of plans and/or itineraries in support of visiting personnel such as military officers, high ranking civilians, and dignitaries; (2)experience providing applicable administrative assistance pertaining to specific visits, briefings and conferences such as maintaining schedules for meetings, conferences, seminars, ceremonies, events, receptions and visitations; and (3) composing correspondence, memoranda for record, agendas, etc. relative to such visits. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
