Joining the Secret Service, Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information, Protective Intelligence and Assessment Division will allow you to utilize your expertise to oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and management of the division's vehicle fleet and equipment. Duties
The selectee will serve as a Technical Equipment and Fleet Specialist in the Protective Intelligence and Assessment Division. Typical work assignments include:
Analyzing the vehicle maintenance program and recommending changes as appropriate to improve cost and operational effectiveness.
Providing technical advice and assistance to division staff on all matters associated with the management and operation of government owned/leased vehicles for the division.
Managing and coordinating the accountability of sensitive equipment for the division initial requisition and signature approval.
Scheduling maintenance on inoperable or malfunctioning equipment and ensuring that unique contractual arrangements are followed.
Planning and controlling the receipt, distribution, disposal, and accountability of all technical equipment, components and materials.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Tracking the status (i.e., acquisition, registration, distribution, maintenance, inspection, disposal) of vehicles and/or equipment to support the organizational mission;
Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of equipment and/or vehicle fleet inventory management systems to optimize program resource management; and
Analyzing program data to deliver budget estimates and/or projections.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).

Work is performed in an office setting and in the USSS vehicle garages. The incumbent makes frequent trips to various locations in the Washington, DC area, Headquarters and the Rowley Training Center in support of the vehicle fleet program. Considerable outdoor work is required to manage the specialized vehicle fleet program.
