About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Duties

Ensure compliance with Medical Materiel Enterprise Standardization Offices’ and the BAMC Materiel Standardization Committee’s mandates. Monitor the progress of work and reviews finished work to ensure it is completed within the deadline. Ensure that transaction errors and failures are identified, researched, and corrected. Assist in preparing budget forecasts to determine categories and quantities of items and funds involved and assists in the management of target financial indicators. Direct cyclic and/or annual inventories in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Identify causes for errors and recommends changes to guidelines for long term effectiveness. Serve as Supervisor of the Inventory Management. Perform location surveys to ensure that warehouse is in compliance with Command objectives.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Requires TDY of 5%.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics or Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementComplianceComputer SkillsOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
