This position is located at the Armed Forces Retirement Home, Resident Services, Recreation Services Division. The incumbent serves as the AFRH-G Activity and Volunteer Services Coordinator who serves the entire AFRH-G facility, independent living, assisted living and long-term care. The primary purpose of this position is the recruitment, retention, orientation, and training of regular and occasional volunteers.

As an Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, you will;
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
1.) Recruitment and training of volunteers or employees for a functional program or service; AND
2.) Coordinating and directing the use of employees or volunteers in order to perform activities; AND
3.) Planning and leading special events, expos or ceremonies.
OR
Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D, if related.
OR
You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
SPECIAL NOTE: Long-term care experience and/or interacting with geriatric patients is highly desired.
