This position is that of Chief, Resident Services which is located at the Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH), Gulfport. The incumbent has wide latitude for assuring the provision of the following operations: administrative support for the Resident Services area, residential care and services for Independent Living (IL) Residents of the facility; admission functions for the AFRH-Gulfport facility, full-time recreation services, food services, chaplain program, and volunteer program.
Duties
As a/an Chief Resident Services, you will:
Incumbent directs, coordinates, and supervises the efforts of approximately 20 employees in the Resident Services area.
Manage physical spaces in which programs are delivered/performed, i.e., bowling alley, facility exercise rooms, the central auditorium/movie theater, a variety of hobby and craft shops, card rooms, the members' visitor lounge and day rooms.
Directs the maintenance and administration of current, former, and deceased Resident's records.
Conducts administrative hearings and acts as an impartial judge in recommending disciplinary measures and corrective actions as the result of Council recommendations.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience for the GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Developing and applying management techniques and methodologies (Examples of this include planning, executing, reviewing, or advising on programs such as budget, policy and regulation, or development and administration of contracts.); AND
Experience with HR functions such as recruitment, personnel actions, performance reviews, etc.; AND
Overseeing all operations of an office.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
