Duties

What will I do in this position if hired? In this Grants Management Specialist position, you will serve the Mitigation Division as a Grant Management Specialist for HMA programs: Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) and Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM). The ideal candidate will have experience providing superior customer service to stakeholders and implementing grant programs. Typical assignments may include:

Qualifications

All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this Grants Management Specialist position at the IC-09 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-07 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Assisting with project management or grant management tasks, processes and procedures; and Coordinating and communicating project needs and status reports to internal and/or external partners; and Applying knowledge of grant management systems. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related OR Combination of education and experience. To qualify for this Grants Management Specialist position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following: Administering or monitoring grants to ensure compliance; and Reviewing grants applications to ensure completeness; and Conducting post-award monitoring activities to ensure funds are used according to regulations. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M. OR Combination of education and experience. To qualify for this Grants Management Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following: Interpreting or applying laws, regulations, or policies related to grant management operations; and Performing tasks related to the full lifecycle of grants; and Providing technical assistance to stakeholders on process improvements and tasks related to the grant management systems.
