This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist at the Communication Systems Directorate-Info and Network Assurance Division in Miami, Florida.
Duties
Conduct workshops, meetings, and seminars to provide advisory services, guidance, awareness, and training concerning the intent and direction of the tenants of cybersecurity/computer network defense (CND) program.
Perform security reviews to identify gaps in security architecture and develop a security risk management plan.
Monitor cybersecurity activities to measure progress in achieving objectives.
Analyze and define the security requirements for new enterprise applications.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent of this position must be able to obtain and maintain a top-secret security clearance.
- Must be able to pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter according to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- Must obtain the required certification/recertification as outlined in DoDM 8140.03, Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program, dated 15 Feb 2023 or updated version and/or additional guidance w/in 6 months of assignment.
- Incumbent of this position is required to travel for duty (TDY) up to 30% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain a valid U.S. passport.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Develop policies to protect the integrity and confidentiality of automated systems and network data; 2). Work with personnel to resolve computer security incidents and vulnerability compliance; 3). Prepare correspondence regarding cybersecurity budget formulation and execution matters and brief personnel accordingly, and 4). Provide advisory services pertaining to contracting automated data system design and development to enhance organizational processes.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
