This position is located in the Management Directorate, Office of Chief Information Officer, IT Field Services Division. As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, you will oversee work to implement and coordinate activities in developing well-designed systems that support business requirements and provide the capability to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of IT systems and services.

Duties

Perform full range of supervisory functions for IT staff including, planning, assigning, and reviewing work. Assists in the development of long-term strategic relationships with customers and stakeholders through daily oversight of subordinate employees. Manages the development of policy changes in response to changes in mission, changes to levels of appropriations, or other legislated changes. Planning, executing, and/or leading large cross-organizational teams to resolve support problems, analyze issues, and/ or close gaps in strategic planning or execution.

Basic Requirements: All applicants must meet the following basic requirements. For all positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Monitoring operations and systems to ensure compliance with procedures, regulations, laws, and policies. Participating in standardization, modernization, and strategic planning of programs and/or operations. Developing program policies or guidance to support efficient and effective operations. Planning, evaluating, and leading projects or teams, such as assigning work, setting priorities, budgeting, and providing feedback on work assignments. Overseeing the work of subordinate supervisors, team leaders, and other non-supervisory staff in developing systems specifications for major new applications. Understanding, explaining, and presenting persuasive complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
