This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will provide supervisory personnel management responsibilities of the Division's civilian attorneys and paralegal.

As a SUPERVISORY ATTORNEY-ADVISOR (GENERAL) you will be responsible for the following duties:
Plans, organizes, and directs activities of the Civil, Transportation, and International Law division (CTI) of the USTRANSCOM Office of the Staff Judge Advocate (TCJA), ensuring the full range of the Division's scope of responsibility complies with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements, and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities of the Division's civilian attorneys and paralegal.
Serves as DoD's center of transportation law expertise. Within CTI's areas of responsibility, provide, supervise, and manage the provision of legal advice to USTRANSCOM, component commands, and other DoD Components involved in any aspect of Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) operations.
Represents USTRANSCOM on legal and regulatory issues to USTRANSCOM subordinate commands, other DoD Components, USG agencies, allies, international organizations, and industry.
Manages USTRANSCOM's legislative program by drafting, submitting, advocating, and defending the Command's legislative initiatives from inception through enactment into law.
Requirements
- This position is designated by the AF as a Test Designated Position (TDP) under the AF Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent of this position is subject to the possibility of random drug testing
- Licensed as an attorney, in active (or equivalent) status and in good standing, with the bar of a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth is a condition of employment
- Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service (visit www.sss.gov for more information)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen

- Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606
Qualifications
Qualification standards for attorney positions may be found in DoD Directive 1442.2, "Personnel Actions Involving Civilian Attorneys" at DoD Instruction 1442.02, September 30, 2010 (whs.mil).

An advanced law degree with specialization in international law is strongly desired, but not required.
Supervisory experience is strongly desired, but not required.
Education
You must be a graduate from an ABA-accredited law school, and be in good standing of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Bar.
