About the Position: Serves as the Administrative and Protocol Officer for the assigned North Atlantic Division Office (NADO), a Major Subordinate Command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with responsibility for management oversight and direction of administrative and protocol functions that support the operational and investigative mission of the field and subordinate offices within their purview.
Duties
Manage an administrative and protocol services program for the North Atlantic Division Office (NADO), a Major Subordinate Command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Formulate and recommend administrative policies, procedures, and regulations; coordinates formulation of such with the administrative and technical staff.
Ensure the highest degree of official recognition is afforded each visitor and that presentations and tours are commensurate with the security clearance and status of the visitor.
Develop, update and implement a protocol program that effectively supports the NAD mission.
Oversee the formulation of highly complex itineraries, requiring tedious coordination, planning and development which involves integration, correlation and incorporation of diverse elements of protocol.
Manage the procurement of supplies, property, and logistical services acquired with Federal and other funds.
Prepare the annual budget for protocol events based upon experiences and anticipated workload.
Maintain files and records to justify expenditures for procurement and budgetary purposes.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

GS-14: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Implements general administrative procedures and policy. 2) Performs financial management and budgeting functions for the organization. 3) Implements civilian personnel and manpower management policies and procedures. 4) Resolves all administrative problems and short and long-term business objectives in assigned areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
