Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base is searching for a Chief for Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attach Characterization System (NH-1101-04, GS 14/15 Equivalent).
Description:
Supervises and leads the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS) Division. Established and manages the strategic and tactical programmatic road-maps. The PARCS Division Chief leads a 24-member team comprised of military officers, government civilians and A&AS Contractors. Manages a sustainment contract and multiple separate projects valued at $198M, supporting Missile Warning and Space Domain Awareness missions.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience as a project or program manager
Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Program Management Level I Certification
Bachelorette Degree from an accredited college/university
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management process and initiatives.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process.
4. Skill to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing.
5. Ability to supervise, mentor, motivate, appraise, and work with subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors.
Requirements

- This position is eligible for telework. Employee must reside within commuting distance of worksite.

- The work may require the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- Position is eligible for telework 2-4 days a pay period.
