As a Special Agent for Kennedy Space Center's (KSC) Protective Services Office, you will serve as the Investigations Program Manager and alternate International Visit Coordinator. You will be responsible for overseeing criminal and administrative investigations, collaborating with other law enforcement organizations, legal counsel, and center management. You will also assist the International Visit Coordinator with processing and approving foreign national visitors to KSC.
Duties
Direct, plan, and control physical security measures to ensure necessary protections against espionage, sabotage, and terrorism.
Conduct operations to detect, deter, and neutralize security violations and workplace violence.
Review and develop new or proposed security policies, plans, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policy for the protection of personnel, programs, information, and facilities.
Serve as a Lead Special Agent for major events held within Kennedy Space Center (KSC) property.
Support training, law enforcement, criminal and administrative investigations, badging and access control systems, workplace violence prevention, protection of assets and visitors, contractor oversight, and strategic spaceport protection planning.
Serve as Duty Agent for any Protective Services matters affecting KSC.

- If selected, you must be able to obtain and maintain the following license/certification: Federal Arrest Authority and Special Agent.
- If selected, you must be able to meet the criteria for use of a firearm in accordance with the Federal Arrest Authority.
- If selected, you must be able to meet the standards and training qualifications in strict compliance with 14 CFR, Chapter V, Part 1203b.103 Security Programs Arrest Authority, and Use of Force by NASA Security Force personnel.
- If selected, you must be able to obtain NASA Federal Law Enforcement Training Certification within the first 12 months of employment.
- This position may require a one-year trial period.
Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:
Conducting, assessing, or developing facility security assessments in conformance with specific policies or regulations;
Collaborating with the appropriate authorities to design or implement physical security measures to provide protection against terrorism, espionage, and sabotage;
Conducting criminal or administrative investigations into security violations, workplace violence, or criminal acts.
