Duties

As a Congressional Liaison Specialist, GS -11 you will perform the following duties: Prepares and/or coordinate the preparation of reports, statistical backup, and other information. Provide solid and logical justification to Congress in the advocacy of the ICE and Departmental goals and views. Provide recommendations as to the desirability of making organizational and operational changes considering congressional interest. Motivate concerned parties to understand and subscribe to limitations placed on agency actions and options.

You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS -09 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Maintains a close and harmonious relationship with congressional staff for an effective interchange of information between the Congress and ICE/DHS. Composes responses to inquiries; reports based on studies in a grammatically correct concise manner. Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all ICE programs and activities and the related policies. Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with other key program officials. OR Education: a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed education and experience. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
