You will serve as an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) in the UNIFIED COMMS & NETWORK SUSTAINMENT division of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.
Duties
You will perform systems analysis and develop cyber capabilities to aid in formulating cybersecurity strategies, policies, and resource strategies, as well as in planning and executing development projects.
You will research, evaluate, and provide feedback on emerging trends and patterns in customer support needs.
You will be responsible for creating, delivering, and defending project communications, as well as contributing to strategic, high-level program communications.
You will develop guidelines, implement procedures, conduct research, and apply findings to enhance processes.
You will ensure that information security and assurance policies are applied in the delivery of customer support services.
You will manage the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of customer hardware and software.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411 level Intermediate within 6 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Maintain a highly secure system through proper configuration and regular system monitoring.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide advice and assistance to customers to accomplish complex, cross-organizational goals.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Responsible for contributing, delivering, and defending project communications; and contributing to strategic, top-level program communications.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyze and solve complex issues in response to customer reported incidents independently, with minimal oversight.
In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Leading the delivery of customer support services such as configuration, troubleshooting, installation, AND/OR training tailored to specific customer needs; AND assisting in implementing action plans in response to customer requirements.
