Duties
The Supervisory Learning Venue & Visitor Experience Specialist is involved in the overall direction and decision-making, planning, management, review and evaluation of the visitor experience, guest services, venue operations, and volunteer coordination.

- May be required to serve an 18 month
probationary period for supervisors.
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of full-time experience at the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system that is close or similar to the work of the position. For this position specialized experience is defined as directing and managing a visitor-sensitive, knowledge-based program and volunteers’ staff of a museum or cultural setting to provide orientation and information on the museum collections and artifacts, as well as its educational offerings, public programs and exhibitions; o verseeing information and content portal for staff and volunteers, which requires knowledge in various subject areas, including natural history, digital engagement, accessibility services, de-escalation practices, health and safety protocols, hospitality, line management, and wayfinding.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
