The position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Capitol Visitor Center, Planning, Evaluation and Operations Division. The Technical Services Specialist ensures the active operational status, maintenance and repair of all installed and portable AV and IT equipment in the Auditorium and Orientation Theaters, Exhibition Hall, and other event and meeting spaces in the CVC.
Duties
Incumbent functions as a Technical Services Specialist responsible for the planning, coordination, production and presentation of multimedia audiovisual (AV) and IT support.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Candidates for the GS-09 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.
(1) Providing technical support in planning of multimedia and audiovisual productions and operations; (2) Providing technical support with IT hardware, software, and network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting; (3) Performing operator and unit level maintenance and servicing on video, audio, multimedia, theatrical lighting and other IT equipment; and (4) Experience operating standard video recording equipment, video cameras, and related items such as lighting, sound, and editing equipment.
Candidates for the GS-11 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.
