About the Position: Serves as a Budget Analyst performing a wide range of financial analytic and management functions within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management and Comptroller) [OASA(FM&C)]. Non-Department of Defense (DoD) Transfer (Non-DoD Transfer) are ineligible to apply for the position.

Duties

Provide input for drafting Congressional testimony in keeping with fiscal, regulatory and legal constraints. Review authorization and appropriation legislation for impact on assigned program or funds. Provide financial/budget technical assistance to program and functional managers, Director of Investments, or Directors on the best course of action. Analyze large amounts of principles, laws, and policies of budgeting data promptly and easily. Support development of budgetary strategy for higher level reviews. Track financial and/or budget data in various databases.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 25% of the time.
  • THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position designated.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
