Duties
As a Health Communications Specialist you will:
Manage and integrate multiple communication channels (including audiovisual products, emails, intranet, meetings, organizational social media, and signage)
Develop and manage contracts and task orders and the required documentation that supports the internal communication program and projects.
Provides consultation and technical assistance within the agency concerning internal communication programs, projects, and strategies.
Develop messages and materials that are valid and consistent with program objectives and are based on internal communication principles as well as audience research (including concept, and message testing)
Serves as a technical resource to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate translation and dissemination of policy, strategy, and scientific information.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic communication and marketing strategies, plans, and products used to inform a variety of audiences about public health programs, issues, and servicesand international programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
