About the Position:
This position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso TX.
Duties
Uses power and manual tools and operates electric, gasoline, or diesel powered vehicles or commercial fork lifts.
Receive incoming warehouse items and equipment.
Verify received items against documents for correct quantity, condition, stock number, and nomenclature, and inputs information/receipts into the Automated Information System (AIS).
Locate and assemble stock for both external and internal customers for shipment, assuring outgoing items are properly marked, tagged, or labeled.
Check condition of items before issue and obtains authorized signature on Delivery Lists.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 75 pounds is required.
- This position may require incumbent to obtain and maintain a valid DOD Forklift operator license for a forklift with lifting capacity of less than 10,000 pounds.
- A Personnel Security Investigation may be required.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical effort required includes continuous standing, bending, lifting, walking and performing work on hard surfaces. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs., and at times, may lift heavier items with assistance of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Incumbent typically works both inside and outside and may be subject to heat, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted areas. Work may be dirty, dusty and greasy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions and falls. May be subject to exposure when working with hazardous materials and requires the use of protective clothing such as safety shoes, hardhats, gloves, etc.
