About the Position: Serve as Materials Handler (Motor Vehicle Operator/ Forklift Operator) located with the Logistics Division at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso TX.

Duties

Receives incoming warehouse items and equipment. Coordinates with medical maintenance to ensure an acceptance inspection is performed on all maintenance significant medical items. Assembles and/or coordinates for a wide variety of pallets, packing boxes, crates and containers for shipment of material by applicable Army, transportation methods. Exercises proper warehousing techniques to preclude breakage or damage to furniture support materials. Uses power and manual tools and operates electric, gasoline, or diesel-powered vehicles or commercial forklifts.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a valid DOD Forklift operator license for a forklift with lifting capacity of less than 10,000 pounds.
• This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

May be subject to exposure when working with hazardous materials and requires the use of protective clothing such as safety shoes, hardhats, gloves, etc.
