About the Position: This position is located in the Office of the Executive Director, Offiice of Army Cemeteries (OAC) with responsibility maintaining and sustaining gravesites and the accountability effort at Army post cemeteries. Position is located in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Implement an Inspection Program across all Army Post Cemeteries that ensures compliance with applicable Army regulations.
Develop best practices to be applied across all Army Post Cemeteries.
Provide policy guidance to Army Post Cemeteries to identify work effectiveness, compliance with regulations, training required, and availability of training.
Conduct a variety of studies to assess and improve program effectiveness.
Analyze existing activities and procedures to identify training that may be provided more efficiently or economically.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is as a Mission Essential (ME) position and is occupied by an agency designated Emergency employee. You will be expected to report to or remain at your worksite during dismissal or closure situations.
- This position requires Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) up to 35% of the time.
- A government driver’s license is required.

GS-13 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing inspection procedures for cemetery operations to ensure regulatory compliance; providing training to personnel on systems related to cemetery operations; conducting briefings to senior leaders on post cemetery inspections and operations; and evaluating cemetery processes to determine best practices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
