This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a senior level specialist, technical manager and/or team leader in matters relating to the environmental aspects of civil work projects.

Duties

Performs research, study, development, and analysis of factual data prepared personally or by other individuals or organizations concerning water resource development projects Participates in field reconnaissance and site studies as necessary. Assists Branch Chief in planning and scheduling work to ensure timely flow and adherence to schedules and priorities. Coordinates scheduling of environmental aspects of plan formulation with other District elements Is responsible for coordination with Federal and state agencies regarding environmental statements. Prepares environmental impact statements and 404(b)(1) reports as required by the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, the Clean Water Act, and related guidelines.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US valid Driver's License in all 50 states.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
