Duties

The incumbent for this position works closely with a team leader and/or supervisor, in a training capacity, on assigned tasks. Performs specific defined tasks involving the application of analytical techniques to study efficiency of program operations. Assists in the analysis, on a quantitative and/or qualitative basis, of the effectiveness of operations meeting established objectives. Assists senior analysts in conducting special studies of functions and work processes of the program (i.e., developing life cycle cost analyses of a program or performing cost benefit or economic evaluations of current or projected programs). Observes and assists senior analysts in researching and investigating new or improved business and management practices for application to agency programs or operations. Perform a full range of standard clerical office support functions.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Official/Unofficial transcripts with the current enrollment course load.
  • Must be enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half time basis.
  • Educational enrollment MUST be on a half-time or full-time basis. Half-time basis is defined by the academic institution that the student is enrolled or accepted into.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.

Qualifications

Pathways Student Interns qualify based on their educational achievements. For the GS-02 grade level: Completion of a High school diploma or equivalent. For the GS-03 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of post high school study. For the GS-04 grade level: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree. For the GS-05 grade level: Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree. For the GS-07 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision after completing a bachelor's degree. Applicants must possess a 2.5 or higher cumulative Grade Point Average-Transcripts must be submitted for proof of education. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
