You will serve as a UTILITY SYSTEM REPAIRER-OPERATOR in the PRODUCTION DIVISION, PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will monitor all equipment to maintain efficiency and control formation of pollutants including constant observation of flow meters and charts. You will provide adequate amounts of chemicals to equipment as well as maintaining stocked levels. You will record oily waste transfers from ship to shore in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations. You will read instruments and gauges, record operating data, and maintain required plant operating logs. You will operate equipment in a safe manner, applying established safety rules and regulations to minimize minor violations and to avoid major violations due to employee error or negligence.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications
