This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Little Rock Commercial Loan Service Center in Little Rock, AR. Serves as a Loan Servicing Assistant in a center, and performs servicing, liquidation, purchasing and post-servicing support functions in support of Loan Specialists in the Center.
Duties
Provides support to Supervisory Loan Specialists (SLS) and LS by completing less complicated actions as directed, on loans being serviced or liquidated by SBA, as well as recommending the purchase of less complex SBA 7(a) loans, such as SBA Express and/or 7(a) small loans.
Reviews financial condition of SBA and bank-serviced loans which are, or are considered, potential problems. Brings to the attention of the Supervisory Loan Specialist (SLS) or Loan Specialist (LS) any adverse change in financial condition or any serious violation of loan agreement and follows up with borrower or Lender on any serious violations noted as directed, using standard agency responses.
For liquidation/purchasing or PSA assignments, logs incoming requests, which includes but not limited to demands for guaranty purchase, and recoding the files to liquidation status.
Makes a written CHRON or CLCS entry for each contact, describing results, listing amounts collected, and furnishing information obtained about borrower's financial status for use by a loan specialist if credit decisions are needed.
Responds to oral and written requests from Lenders and borrowers and other financial institutions concerning loan information, such as payment amounts, interest rates, loan balances, and terms and conditions.

- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- This is not a drug testing designated position (TDP).
- This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228.
Qualifications
GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal service (gained in the public or private sector) that includes performing reviews for financial institutions and/or a variety of financing enterprises to assist in the processing, servicing and/or liquidation of commercial/business loans, including experience ascertaining the completeness and appropriateness of a requested action/change to the loan.

TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled
