About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Facility Operations Specialist for the U.S. Army Field Support Brigade, JBLM S-4 Logistics, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
Duties
Develop and coordinate facilities management programs to include real property, environmental, space allocation, maintenance, and repair.
Coordinate studies, plans, and programs required to achieve Master Plan objectives that includes mission changes, technological changes, Army directives, and changing standards of lifestyle.
Develop the annual and long-range work plans reflecting projects and recurring annual requirements in terms of man-hours, funds, in-house and contract jobs, equipment, and supplies for the seven-year Program Objective Memorandum (POM) period.
Develop, analyze, determine, and prepare necessary solutions to correct real property deficiencies.
Develop master plan documents and supporting information needed in the preparation of the installation’s Master Plan.
Coordinate the planning, design, cost, engineering, construction, and environmental restoration for projects.
Plan space use, moves, and space control.
Serve as the building consultant for operating and staff offices on space management concepts and techniques.
Ensure work orders for maintenance and construction are prepared and processed, and coordinate to ensure funding is available.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Coordinating and/or developing facilities or space management programs for an organization; 2) Performing master planning activities such as reviewing building layouts or work orders; 3) Preparing cost estimates for facility maintenance; and 4) Resolving real property issues or deficiencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
