Duties

The Imagery Analyst in this position provides consultant service and/or monitors projects in interrelated geographical or functional fields; incumbent assignments are based on general objectives; their technical decisions are authoritative; and they are generally recognized as the organization's experts in their field. The incumbent manages Joint Production, Exploitation and Dissemination (PED) activities; contributes to the production of intelligence exploitation policies; and provides multi-disciplined national technical means, commercial, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) collection and analysis to CBP operational components. Ensures analysis, of National and commercial collection platforms, is focused on Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR) and Standing Information Needs (SIN) to implement risk-informed intelligence driven operations against the highest threats. Provides tactical and strategic level support to CBP operational components to inform and enhance operational and resource allocation decision making. Perform complex and timely imagery analysis and imagery derived Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT) analysis in support to ensure the highest quality of timely support to the team. You will be required to communicate analytical assessments clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present analysis products and ideas in an operational environment. You will use your technical expertise and experience of Processing Exploitation and Dissemination(PED) of remotely sensed data such as Hyper/Multi-Spectral Imagery (HSI/MSI), Thermal/Infrared Imagery, Electro-Optical Imagery, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR), and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR). Accesses National and Commercial imagery libraries for required softcopy imagery. Integrates and fuses all-source multi-sensor data when required. Applies an extensive knowledge of intelligence, imagery analysis, research, and database management methodologies to monitor border regions and support operational monitoring of issues that threaten border security. Prepares a variety of softcopy imagery products to meet project requirements and publishes products to appropriate imagery databases.

  • Must be a current permanent Federal employee

  • Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation

Qualifications

Qualifications required: Extensive knowledge of specialized intelligence collection and dissemination techniques and sources to produce instruction regarding imagery analysis. Extensive knowledge of operations of the intelligence program of CBP and its relationship to national intelligence activities to facilitate the prevention of national security acts, including potential terrorists' attacks, weapons, narcotics, people smuggling, and international money laundering. Extensive knowledge of the interplay of geographical, political, military, economic, and industrial forces, in various regions of the world to affect analytical assessments and recommendations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to effectively disseminate information and to conduct presentations and briefings to executive audiences in both the intelligence, law enforcement, and trade communities. Vast knowledge of a wide range of research and collection methods and analytical imagery applications when developing innovative solutions from questionable or incomplete data. Extensive knowledge of intelligence issues to validate imagery conclusions and coordinate input from other analysts and organizations when preparing finished imagery intelligence products.
