The primary purpose of this position, GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST GS-2001-09, is to provide effective management and control of equipment assets in accordance with Air Force equipment supportability requirements and Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).

Duties

Perform work associated with the Equipment Review Authorization Allowance Authority for a specifically assigned area of responsibility. Maintain property accounts and records, completing individual transactions, screening reference files, conducting data searches, and distributing output files. Perform work associated with the management of items. Provide guidance, direction, and technical assistance to appropriate personnel to ensure compliance with applicable DOD, HAF, and AFMC regulations, instructions, directives and policy. Analyze and monitors planned or scheduled equipment requirements, forecasts, and asset availability.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems and is described in detail in my resume. Examples of specialized experience includes: knowledge of supply management and inventory control systems, methods, and procedures to evaluate the impact of variables that influence the course(s) of action taken in resolving procedural issues involving conflicting program requirements. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: Completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree Or LL.B. or J.D., if related. NOTE: You must submit copies of your unofficial transcripts with your application if using education as a substitution of experience. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of successfully completed, qualifying education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Education in excess of 1 full year of graduate level education and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application if using education as a substitution of experience. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions. 2.Knowledge of supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. 3.Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system. 4 Ability to read, interpret and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems. 5.Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is generally performed in a climate controlled office setting. The work is sedentary and is usually accomplished while the employee is comfortably seated at a desk or table. Some walking, standing and carrying of light objects may occur in the course of a normal workday. Occasional moderate lifting may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed both indoors, in an office environment and a warehouse environment involving everyday risks or discomforts of such places. Office area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Works closely with others.
