The primary purpose of this position LEAD SUPPLY SPECIALIST, is to serve as a team lead NH-2001, General Supply Specialists who perform a wide variety of complex provisioning and cataloging supply support duties involved in accomplishing the organizational goals and objectives defined below.
Duties
Perform technical and administrative team lead duties over primarily employees over subordinate positions predominantly classifiable in the Supply Group at the journey level or higher by identifying, distributing, assigning and balancing workload and tasks amongst employees by skill level, proficiency and/or occupational specialization, making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of subordinate work assignments.
Consistently exercise independent judgment in directing and assigning work amongst employees by using determinative factors such as team members expertise, experience, competence, workload availability, work priorities and team member functional development.
Plan, develop, organize, administer, evaluate, and coordinate supply system programs.
Represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

- WORK ENVIRONMENT - The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,Administrative and Management Positions.Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have, or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement will have, at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-11), level, pay band (NH-02) or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). Specialized experience is described as: Experience aiding in articulating and communicating to the team and individuals, assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, program issues under review and/or time frames for completion of assigned work based on supervisor's instructions; experience assisting with oversight of direct distribution, transportation, storage, receiving, inspecting, tracing, tracking, packaging, and shipping of supplies, equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability to plan, organize, lead functions, mentor and motivate the staff of an organization.
Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component.
Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
